On November 2, 2024, the Tri-Regional Screw Exchange Conference was grandly held in Hong Kong, China, marking the reunion of this industry event after a five-year hiatus. The conference brought together professionals from the fastener industries of Mainland China, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan, China to jointly explore industry trends and challenges.
Mr. Xu Binghui, Chairman of the Hong Kong Screw &FastenerCouncil, Mr. Xue Kangsheng, President of the Fastener Branch of the China General Machine Components Industry Association (CMCA), and Mr. Hu Zhanfei from the Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute delivered speeches respectively. They elaborated on the current development status, crises and challenges faced by the fastener industry in their regions, fostering a profound atmosphere of exchange.
Mr. Zhou Zhixian, Lead Engineer of Carbon and Environmental Management at the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC), presented a keynote speech on "The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) Policy" and "Quantification and Cases of Carbon Footprint in Manufacturing Products". Engineer Zhou thoroughly analyzed the impact of the CBAM on the fastener industry and proposed targeted practical suggestions, offering new ideas for the sustainable development of the industry.
Mr. Jiao Junhua, Party Secretary of Dongfeng Motor Fastener Co., Ltd. and Executive Director of Shanghai Teqiang Fastener Technology Co., Ltd., focused on the field of new energy vehicles, providing a detailed introduction to the new requirements for fastener products in this sector. His speech not only demonstrated the application of fastener products in new energy vehicles but also addressed questions from attendees regarding product R&D, manufacturing, inspection and application.
At the end of the conference, Mr. Xu Binghui, Mr. Xue Kangsheng and Mr. Hu Zhanfei jointly presented certificates of appreciation to the two guest speakers in recognition of their contributions to the development of the fastener industry in the three regions.
Following the conference, the organizer arranged a dinner cruise on the Bauhinia, bringing the event to a successful close. The conference not only strengthened ties among fastener industry professionals from the three regions but also injected new momentum into the future development of the fastener industry.
